Romantic Sand Ceremonies

The beautiful and romantic Sand Ceremony replaces the traditional Unity Candle ceremony. The Bride and Groom can choose to scoop the sand and rose petals from beneath their feet and together pour it into the glass shaped heart keepsake jar that will be an everlasting reminder of the commitment they have made to one another from the very spot they stood and said their vows or the Bride and Groom can choose to each hold a jar of differently colored sand and as they each pour their individual jars of sand together into the third keepsake jar, the blending of the two-colored sands represents their two lives coming together as one as they begin their journey as man and wife.

Below are sample verses that can be read by the officiate during the sand ceremony:

"Now we shall celebrate this union as it is symbolized through the pouring of two individual containers of sand. One represents (Bride) and all that you were, all that you are, and all that you will ever be. The other represents (Groom) and all that you were and all that you are, and all that you will ever be. As the two vials of sand are poured into the third keepsake vase, the individual containers of sand ceased to exist as they are now joined together as one. Just as these grains of sand can never be separated and poured again into the individual vases, so will the love and bond between the two of you render you inseperable."

Sand Ceremony with Children

When their is a marriage with children from a previous relationship, incorporating the children into the sand ceremony with their very own jar of colored sand, is a very special way to include the children into the creation of this new family.

"Just as we have now bound (Bride) and (Groom) to one another, we will now celebrate the unification of (child/children) into this covenant. The couple will first pour their sands into the vase, showing that their marriage is the foundation of this family. Their sands mix together and symbolize their bond of love and respect that can never be separated. As (child/children) now add their sands, they show how the individual colors create a beautiful masterpiece of love and mutual respect. Though we are all different people, it is our individuality which adds a unique color to the tapestry of the family. Like the sands poured before it, so these sands will also mix and be unable to be separated."

Blessing Shell Toss

While guests are
arriving they are asked to choose a shell from our treasure chest. Each
shell has a word of blessing and wishes for the couple etched onto it such
as, Love, Trust, Happiness, and so on... At the end of the ceremony the
Bride, Groom and Guests are directed to the waters edge and after a verse is
read by the officiant, the couple counts to 3, and everyone tosses their
blessing shell into the ocean together. Not only is it a special
photographic moment, but is another way for everyone in attendance to be
involved in this special day!

   Conch Shell Horn Ritual

The Best Man, Friend, or perhaps  the "Family Comedian" can be given a conch shell horn prior to the ceremony. When the couple are pronounced Husband and Wife, he/she blows the horn. The couple must kiss for as long as the horn is blown! This makes for a very cute and comical moment and you get to keep the Conch Shell as a wedding memory keepsake!!
